David McKenzie is a lead economist in the World Bank’s Development Research Group, Finance and Private Sector Development Unit. His main research is on migration, microenterprises, and methodology for use with developing country data. He has published over 100 articles in journals such as the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Science, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of the European Economic Association, American Economic Journal: Applied, Micro, Journal of Econometrics, and leading development journals.
McKenzie is currently on the editorial boards of the Journal of Development Economics, World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Economic Perspectives, and Migration Studies. He is also a cofounder of and regular contributor to the Development Impact blog. Prior to joining the World Bank, McKenzie spent four years as assistant professor of economics at Stanford University.
