All are invited to participate in this workshop given by Rodrigo Caresani, Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero, Director of the ARCHIVO RUBÉN DARÍO ORDENADO Y CENTRALIZADO (UNTREF) and Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires, in the framework of the graduate seminar “La escritura latinoamericana en el fin de siglo: La crónica modernista.”

This workshop, which is open to anyone interested in Latin American art, literature, culture, and history, aims to explore the current state of digital literacy in Latin America, based on the massive progress of digitization projects of its literary and cultural heritage. To this end, specific cases of digital repositories related to Latin American writers of the 19th and 20th centuries will be studied and analyzed. Based on a comparative analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of these repositories, the workshop will propose and discuss a series of criteria for the construction of digital collections and their potential influence on the academic editions of documentary sources, but also on the democratization of knowledge in general.
