Parker Jules is a sophomore majoring in Global Affairs and Political Science. She is interested in foreign affairs, specifically the relationship between democracy and peace, economic inequalities, and the impact of education on economic development. In the Summer of 2024, Parker traveled to Poland to study the long-term effects of the Holocaust on Polish populations and the development of international law. This experience garnered her interest in researching how historical injustices shape modern legal frameworks, societal reconciliation efforts, and the pursuit of justice through international governance systems. Additionally, she has fostered interest in researching educational disparity in the United States through her involvement in programs like College Mentors for Kids and Best Buddies. Last semester, Parker was involved with the South Bend Education Student Policy Network project, which researched the implementation of competency-based education across various United States and advised a local South Bernd school, the Portage School, on how to proceed with their program. She is excited to develop necessary research skills through the Kellogg Developing Researchers Program. She hopes these skills will contribute to both a successful Global Affairs capstone project and a partnership with a Notre Dame professor on a research project.
