Kimberly Martinez is an undergraduate double majoring in Sociology and Psychology with a minor in Latino Studies. Her academic interests include gender, social identity, and education. Kimberly is passionate about exploring how education can act as a tool for empowerment, bridging gaps in social mobility, and addressing inequality.with a focus on how social structures impact marginalized communities. Currently, Kimberly is a research assistant with the Chicago Congregations Project, where she is involved in examining the role of congregations in shaping local communities in Chicago. She assists with translating materials from Spanish to English, transcribing religious sermons, and conducting surveys in Spanish. Passionate about social change, Kimberly is eager to expand her research in psychology, sociology, and education to better understand how these fields intersect and shape communities.
