About

Violet McCann is an Evans Scholar from Greenwich, Connecticut majoring in the Program of Liberal Studies and considering minors in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, Psychology, and Studio Art. On campus, she is involved in the Student International Business Council (SIBC), the de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture (dCEC) as a Sorin Fellow, and is a member of the Notre Dame Chorale. Violet is interested in developmental and cognitive psychology, specifically metacognition, a topic which she researched extensively for a thesis paper prior to attending Notre Dame. She is interested in researching and learning about sociology of the family and sociology of education. Additionally, she is interested in researching the cultures and literature produced during the Archaic and Classical Periods of Ancient Greece. She plans to use her time as a Kellogg Developing Researcher to equip herself with the skill set to conduct and contribute to research that improves the lives of others.
