Abroad: Toledo, Spain, Fall 2025

Jack Newell is a junior from Albany, NY, studying Global Affairs and Spanish. He is interested in China's political and economic posture in the Global South and its implications for U.S. security. As a Kellogg International Scholar, he has created and analyzed datasets detailing Sino-American Memoranda of Understanding and federal anti-China legislation to support Prof. Kyle Jaros' book project on the role of subnational relations in foreign policymaking. Beyond ISP, he is an Undergraduate Fellow at the Notre Dame International Security Center and the Vice President of the Notre Dame Student Policy Network.
