Kayla Nguyen is a junior at the University of Notre Dame majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Medical Neurobiology. As a Kellogg Developing Researcher, Kayla is interested in learning more about healthcare policy and patient advocacy on a global scale. In her role as Advocacy Director in GlobeMed at Notre Dame, she has learned about healthcare crises and policies in countries all over the world, such as in Laos, Ukraine, Haiti, and South Africa. She hopes to investigate the intersection between healthcare policy and health equity among various healthcare systems, especially for underserved and/or neglected groups within medicine.
