JOIN VIRTUALLY! Election Observation and Advancing Democracy: A Conversation with Ambassador Susan D. Page
Impartial, credible election observers play a key role in shaping perceptions about the quality and legitimacy of electoral processes. Following a recent trip to Guyana serving on The Carter Center's official Election Observation Mission, former Ambassador Susan Page will share her experiences with observation missions and their role in strengthening the foundations of democratic governance. During this informal conversation, Ambassador Page will share her eyewitness account from Guyana, as well as her experience with elections in other countries, including the first post-genocide election in Rwanda. The conversation will explore what we can learn from these experiences and what the implications might be for us at home.
This event is for undergraduate and graduate students by invitation. Details for joining via Zoom can be found on personal Google calendar invite.
