Visiting Fellow Deborah Durham has been awarded with an American Council of Learned Societies Project Development Grant for the upcoming year.
Durham is a cultural anthropologist and lecturer of anthropology at Longwood University who studies youth and identity. She'll use the ACLS grant to travel to Botswana for research on her project, "Affective Materialism: Sentiments, Materialism, and the Developers of New Maturities in Botswana."
The ACLS program offers $5,000 seed grants to support and advance the research of humanities faculty at teaching-intensive colleges and universities.
