Pablo Beramendi is a professor of political science at Duke University who studies the political economy of inequality and redistribution with a specific focus on the causes and consequences of different tax structures. He has been a Research Associate at the Center for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy at the University of Warwick since 2013. Among his most recent publications is The Political Geography of Inequality: Regions and Redistribution (Cambridge University Press, 2012), which won the 2013 Best Book Award from the European Politics and Society section of the American Political Science Association. Beramendi holds a D.Phil from the University of Oxford for his work “Decentralization and Income Inequality.
