Mexico Working Group Film Screening
Film screening of Jorge Fons’ 1989 film Rojo Amanecer (in Spanish with no English subtitles). Based on testimonials from witnesses and victims of the October 2 student massacre, the film captures the ideological, cultural, and political tensions between three generations of Mexicans as they differently tried to make sense of the student movement: a grandfather who fought in the Mexican Revolution, a father who worked for the government, and a son who participated in the movement.
