Pope Francis’s Vision of International Politics and Diplomacy
It is often said that Pope Francis is a revolutionary pope. However, a comprehensive assessment of the Church’s course in international politics and institutional change under the current pope is not yet possible. There are indicators for change as well as continuity. This lecture explores both by looking at Francis’s vision of international politics and diplomacy and in particular by evaluating his vision of international politics through examples from the papal human rights discourse and Holy See diplomacy.
