Considine Award
The Kellogg Institute annually bestows the Considine Award for Outstanding Student Contributions to the Study of or Service to the Catholic Church in Latin America, given in the spring with a $1000 cash prize. Established to commemorate the late Rev. John Considine, a Maryknoll Missioner who made pioneering contributions to the building of strong ties between the US Catholic Church and the Catholic Church in Latin America, the award recognized students whose activities and studies reflect Rev. Considine’s aspirations and lifework.
This prize is no longer being awarded.
The award recognizes an undergraduate’s exemplary study and/or service to the Catholic Church in Latin America. It is named for Rev. John Considine, a Maryknoll priest whose commitment to the US Church’s mission to Latin America illustrates the Kellogg Institute’s preeminent concern with the matters of human rights, democracy, and integral development in the global South.
