Carlos Gervasoni is an associate research professor in the Department of Political Science and International Studies at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Argentina. He specializes in studies of democracy, federalism, subnational politics, public opinion, and the methodology of social research.

Gervasoni earned a PhD in political science in 2011 from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a PhD fellow and a dissertation year fellow at the Kellogg Institute. He was also an author in the Institute’s Working Paper Series.

Gervasoni is the author of Hybrid Regimes within Democracies: Fiscal Federalism and Subnational Rentier States (Cambridge University Press, 2018). He is the regional manager of the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) project and part of the research team that carries out the Argentine Panel Election Study (APES).
