Former Dissertation Fellow Paul Vasquez (Political Science ‘09) co-authored an article titled “Band of Brothers or Band of Others?: Conditional Militarized Discourse Efficacy in Civil Rights Fights in Germany and the United States." In the article, they analyze what causes marginalized communities to achieve better civil and political rights based on military service in their communities.
