This talk, based on Reyes-Foster's book Psychiatric Encounters: Madness and Modernity in Yucatan, Mexico (Rutgers University Press, 2018) is a close examination of medical encounters in Las Lomas, a state psychiatric hospital in Yucatan, Mexico.
