Former Visiting Fellow David Altman published a new book, Citizenship and Contemporary Direct Democracy (Cambridge University Press, 2018).  This book connects the study of direct democracy to the wider field of comparative democratization, while considering a new perspective on the most discussed contemporary democratic innovations.  A portion of Altman's research for this book was completed while he was at the Kellogg Institute, and it draws from the Institute's V-Dem project.
