Faculty Fellow Josh Eisenman (global affairs) was quoted in an opinion piece in The Washington Post titled, “Biden’s U.N. Ambassador Nominee to Face Criticism for Past Praise of China.” The article explores the comments the United Nations ambassador nominee Linda Thomas-Greenfield has made regarding China’s strategy in Africa, some of which were delivered at a Chinese Communist Party-funded Confucius Institute.

Eisenman comments on how China is trying to expand its influence in Africa and that “it’s a threat to the independence and integrity of civil society in these countries.”
