The Kellogg Institute for International Studies, part of the University of Notre Dame’s new Keough School of Global Affairs, is an interdisciplinary community of scholars that promotes research, provides educational opportunities, and builds linkages related to democracy and human development.

Diego Abente Brun (Spring ’88, Fall ’06 & ’07), deputy director for the International Forum for Democratic Studies, reports that Latin America's Struggle for Democracy, coedited with Larry Diamond and Marc F. Plattner (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2008), was named a 2009 Outstanding Academic Title by Choice magazine.
