Former Kellogg Doctoral Affiliate Claudia Baez-Camargo (PhD ‘03) published an article about her research project on informal networks and corruption in Tanzania and Uganda. In the article “Bribery isn’t only an Exchange of Money: What New Research Tells Us about How Informal Networks Enable Corruption and Vice Versa,” Baez-Camargo demonstrates that informal networks create access to public services, business connections with the government, and allows businesses to flow smoothly.
