Nazret Degaulle is a second-year student at the University of Notre Dame, double majoring in economics and global affairs. She is passionate about international development, championing democracy initiatives worldwide, and analyzing economic aid allocation, with a focus on Eastern Africa and the Middle East. Of Eritrean descent, Degaulle is particularly motivated to address economic development challenges affecting the African continent, seeking to understand the past and develop innovative solutions for the future.

Currently, she contributes to student media through the Notre Dame Observer and Scholastic magazines. She is also an active member of the African Student Association and the Notre Dame Dance Company. Additionally, as a core team member of the Faith and Justice Alliance through Campus Ministry, she helps plan events that educate the student body on the intersection of faith and advocacy. Degaulle looks forward to expanding her research skills through various projects, aiming for a career in foreign policy at a think tank or governmental institution.
