Monica Turner is a 2023 Economics and Political Science alumna who collaborated with Professor Alejandro Estefan on a research paper examining the impact and implications of digital training in developing countries. She also supported Professor Estefan in designing surveys, analyzing results, and drafting background hypotheses for a virtual training–focused study sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank.
Monica currently works as an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company in New York. During her time at Bain, she completed a semester-long externship at Universidad Anáhuac in Querétaro, where she contributed to several projects aimed at strengthening the university’s academic and service-oriented global initiatives.

Monica Turner is working with Professor Alejandro Estefan on a research paper that studies the impact and implications of digital training in developing countries. In her first year as a research assistant with Professor Estefan, Turner used Stata to analyze the effectiveness of the Mexican anti-poverty social program, Progresa, on poverty incidence. She also helped Professor Estefan built surveys, analyze results, and draft background hypotheses for a virtual training-focused research sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank.
Turner has also worked with the Monterrosa Law Group from South Bend as a translator for legal documents and has been a project leader for the McKinsey Social Impact Student International Business Council team.
