Miranda Cuozzo is a rising junior with a major in architecture and a minor in Africana studies. She is working with Design for Development to create graphic designs for Milani Youth, an organization that brings children from the Khayelitsha township on hikes through the mountains of Cape Town, South Africa. Cuozzo is designing various handouts and organizing virtual activities to keep the children engaged while public health restrictions keep them at home. She is particularly interested in exploring the ways design can be used to further equality, especially in areas with highly racialized histories, like the United States and South Africa.
