Michael Giles is the Kellogg Institute Postdoctoral Fellow for the Constitutionalism and Rule of Law lab at Notre Dame. He earned a Ph.D. at Michigan State (2020) in Political Science. He also holds an M.A. in Political Science from Michigan State and a B.A. in Political Economy from Hillsdale College (2012). He is a past recipient of grants from the Bradley Foundation, the Institute for Humane Studies, and the Hertog/Hudson Political Studies program. 

Mike's research describes the relationship between faith and politics within the context of political philosophy. His dissertation was a study of the political importance of mankind's fall from Eden, as articulated and defended by St. Augustine of Hippo. His research also explores the interaction of religious faith with such diverse topics as political economy, morality, and law.
