About

Mary Braden, a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame studying Global Affairs and Spanish with a Peace Studies minor, is interested in learning and working to create policy in conflict prevention and conflict resolution. She hopes to understand the disproportionate effect war has on minority groups and work to bring these groups justice and sustainability during and after conflict. Through the Kellogg Developing Researchers program, she wants to learn research skills and work with faculty on war-related projects. Braden volunteers weekly with the nonprofit organization ENGin to tutor Ukrainian youth in English and help open up their job opportunities. She has presented a research paper on the negative portrayal of women in advertisements at the Saint Mary’s College Symposium. On campus, Braden is an Admissions Ambassador and a member of the Spanish club, GreeND, FeministND, and MindfulND.
