The Kellogg Institute for International Studies, part of the University of Notre Dame’s new Keough School of Global Affairs, is an interdisciplinary community of scholars that promotes research, provides educational opportunities, and builds linkages related to democracy and human development.

Luis Elizondo Gracia is a junior from Monterrey, México. Elizondo will assist Professor César Sosa Padilla in his research on sovereign wealth funds. Last year, Elizondo assisted in the documentation of evidence regarding Argentina’s 1976 breakdown of democracy for Professor Scott Mainwaring. He also worked with data related to the legislative and executive party makeup of different countries to find if there is a relationship between political party polarization and illiberal behavior.
