Lauren Dungan is a junior from North Arlington, NJ. She is double majoring in computer science and economics with and interests in sustainable agriculture development. Dungan is serving as an undergraduate research assistant under Professor Paul Winters. Last year, she conducted research on rural inclusive transformation and investments by development agencies for the purpose of rural transformation. Dungan is continuing her work with Dr. Winters this semester, working on a project regarding scaling innovations in the agricultural field.

Last summer, Dungan received funding from the Notre Dame Merit Scholars Program to conduct research at the Cape Eleuthera Institute in Eleuthera, The Bahamas. In her project, Lauren worked on the development and wide scale implementation of sustainable agricultural systems in impoverished, rural, non-arable communities.
