Laura Iannuzzi is a lecturer in midwifery at Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom and a practicing midwife with experience caring for high- and low-risk pregnancies in a number of settings. She previously worked as a midwife at Careggi University Hospital in Florence, Italy, where she was a midwife leader with the Physiological Pregnancy Pathway program and the Margherita Birth Centre. She also held an organizational position for development, in which she implemented and evaluated standards of care and clinical research.

Iannuzzi is a member of the COST Action research network, where she is taking part in project entitled “Building Intrapartum Research Through Health: an interdisciplinary whole system approach to understanding and contextualising physiological labour and birth.” She has written for a number of scholarly publications, teaches master’s level courses in midwifery at the University of Milano Bicocca, and has been an invited speaker at a number of national and international conferences related to women’s health and birthing.

Iannuzzi holds a PhD in health studies from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in nursing and midwifery science from the University of Florence.
