About

Keara Gilligan ’22 is a rising senior, studying science-business on a pre-med track with a minor in history. This summer, she will be working with Child Family Health International (CFHI) with their virtual global and public health internship in Bolivia. CFHI focuses on building true partnerships with their international partners, building up their existing health systems and understanding the local practitioners as the experts of their own environments. Gilligan will be engaging with CFHI’s partners in Bolivia, and hopes to contribute to the public health projects currently in place, guided by the local team. She hopes to broaden her global health competencies through practicing cross-cultural communication, participating in language training, and understanding an asset-based lens to global health. This will be an influential opportunity on her journey to become a physician, hopefully being able to translate this experience into a broader understanding of community health in the future.
