About

Katie Sullivan is a sophomore studying civil engineering from Saginaw, Michigan. Her research interests include water accessibility and sanitation, public health, and sustainable development. This year, Sullivan is serving as a research assistant under Professor Marc Müller and his work regarding the acknowledgment of water as a human right within indigenous communities. She is tasked with finding various locations with hydro-industrial plants and conducting literature reviews on how each plant affects the local communities and their access to water. The analyses made by Sullivan will be following a previously developed framework created to support stakeholders in recognizing and enforcing the human right to water in various water-centric industries. As she begins her work with KISP, Sullivan looks forward to gaining valuable knowledge on issues of water insecurity and the effect of those issues on communities all over the globe.
