Strategies of Party Influence and Survival in the Polish Parliament
Faculty Research Grant
In this project, Nalepa investigates how legislative parties behave strategically to respond to this tension. The researchers outline a theory designed to provide an analytical lens to study legislative strategies of parties in the opposition and generalize the basic tension within parties as one of a conflict over coalescing around a collective strategy. Addressing this tension directly, at all levels of its occurrence, will allow Nalepa to explain patterns of party cohesion and disunity, both across and within parties.
