“Notre Dame Visit of John Kamm, Founder and Executive Director of Dui Hua” Founded and directed by John Kamm, Dui Hua is a nonprofit humanitarian organization in China that seeks clemency and better treatment for at-risk detainees through the promotion of universally recognized human rights in a well-informed, mutually respectful dialogue with China. Its work rests on the premise that positive change is realized through constructive relationships and exchange. The goal of this visit is to have John Kamm engage the Notre Dame community in understanding the human rights situation in China by exploring the unique aspects of his foundation’s human rights work through a public lecture, classroom visits, and additional discussions with students and faculty. We hope that with this visit we can identify what collaborative projects between Notre Dame and Dui Hua should move forward and chart a concrete course of action around them.
