This proposed book explores the development of mindsets and skillsets to improve team-based learning in higher education classrooms. The research focuses on how effective teamwork skills can be cultivated through intentional instructional design and reflective practice, emphasizing the educational development of students as they prepare for complex, real-world challenges. Grounded in case studies from international contexts, including work done at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile, the book provides insights into how these principles apply across various disciplines, from global affairs to medicine, and from social sciences to engineering. The project aligns with the Kellogg Institute’s thematic priority of human development by focusing on improving education through team-based experiential learning and fostering mindsets and skillsets related to reflective practice, psychological safety, belonging, and negotiations. The book is under contract with the University of Oklahoma Press series on Teaching, Engaging and Thriving in Higher Education.
