Ge Sun is a Ph.D. student in the Economics department, focusing on labor market outcomes and gender disparities in developing countries. Her current research project investigates the impact of fertility expectations on young females' wages in developing countries, investigating whether they face "penalties" for the possibility of having children in the future. Her other research explores people's human capital investment decisions in less-developed economies and how technological advancement affects senior people's wages in rapidly growing developing countries. Ge grew up in Shandong, China. Before coming to Notre Dame, she received her MS in Financial Engineering at the National University of Singapore and her MA in Economics at Peking University. She spent her undergraduate period at the Beijing Foreign Studies University, majoring in International Business and Trade.
