Enanu Smart is a first-year in The Galvin Scholars Program studying neuroscience and behavior with a double minor in global health and compassionate care in medicine. Her long-term goal is to become a medical professional and contribute to improving healthcare accessibility in third-world countries, specifically Ethiopia. She is currently preparing to partake in summer research with the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria with Marcelo Bento Soars and Sergey Malchenko regarding the mitochondrial transfer between Neural Stem Cells, Cancer Stem Cells, and surrounding astrocytes. She is interested in a wide variety of research in order to gain valuable hands-on experience and promote change for the better.
