Development Elites, Impacted Communities, and Environmental Governance in Latin America
With a new special issue of the Studies in Comparative International Development Journal (SCID) just published on "Development Elites, Impacted Communities, and Environmental Governance in Latin America," the Kellogg Institute will host a conversation among the coauthors and editor. Journal editor Tamara Kay, Notre Dame professor of global affairs and sociology, will convene a discussion with coauthors Moisés Arce and Maiah Jaskoski about how the issue came about, how it was curated, the themes it addresses, and more.
Tamara Kay is professor of global affairs and sociology in the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. Her research interests include trade, labor, social movements, and globalization, among others.
Moisés Arce is the Scott and Marjorie Cowen Chair in Latin American Social Sciences and professor in the Department of Political Science at Tulane University. He specializes in environmental politics, conflict processes, democratic governance, and comparative political economy.
Maiah Jaskoski is professor of politics and international affairs at Northern Arizona University. She specializes in state-society relations and organizational dynamics within the state, having conducted in-depth fieldwork in Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, across decades.
