David Ipogah is a Doctoral Student Affiliate at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies and a PhD student in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame. He graduated with First Class Honors in Zoology from Delta State University, Nigeria. His research focuses on the transmission dynamics of zoonotic and vector-borne pathogens, such as Malaria and Schistosomiasis, within the context of climate change—diseases that perpetuate the poverty-disease cycle in developing countries.
Specifically, He aims to study how environmental factors influence vector behavior and traits to develop sustainable disease control interventions. His work seeks to guide public health strategies that are both ecologically informed and operationally effective.
David cares about community education and public health. He co-founded an NGO in Nigeria with the vision of expanding access to education by reducing parasitic disease morbidity, particularly among children in marginalized communities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
