"Varieties of Democracy Update"
Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) is an international effort based at the University of Gothenburg and at Notre Dame that is producing better measures of democracy. The project has finished collecting data on most countries from 1900 to 2012. One of the principal investigators, Notre Dame political scientist and Kellogg Fellow Michael Coppedge, will share an early look at some interesting trends in the new data, emphasizing democratization trends that V-Dem captures and other democracy measures overlook.
