Guerra Díaz is an acclaimed Uruguayan poet and a member/associate researcher of the National Academy of Letters of Uruguay. She started publishing poetry in the difficult first years of the transition to democracy in Uruguay and is considered one of the most innovative and powerful poetic voices from Latin America. Guerra is the author of nine books of poetry, two books of prose, and six books of criticism.
