About

Anne Donohue ’22 is a rising senior at the University of Notre Dame, majoring in theology and pre-health with a minor in poverty studies. Donohue is particularly interested in the intersection of these three disciplines through the lens of global health, and she will be pursuing this interest this summer through a remote internship with Child Family Health International. Child Family Health International is a global and public health organization that partners with 12 countries around the world, and their primary goal is to educate and cultivate the next generation of global health leaders. Donohue will be learning from local community leaders in southwest Uganda about the prevalent global health issues they face, such as HIV/AIDS, maternal and neonatal health, water and sanitation, etc. After an introduction on these issues, Donohue will be challenged to integrate her new knowledge and skills in global health into ongoing projects conducted by local healthcare providers or NGO professionals. Donohue hopes to continue her inquiry into the global health field when she returns to campus in the fall and possibly pursue a career in the field after graduation.
