Alan Lacerda is associate professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). He teaches for undergraduate students in the Institute of Public Policies and for graduate students in the Graduate Program in Social Sciences, both in the same university. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro (Iuperj). His work has been published in periodicals such as Brazilian Political Science Review, Revista Brasileira de Ciência Política, Política Hoje, as well as in edited volumes. His current research interests focus on forms of government and semi-presidentialism, state-level politics in Brazil (especially Rio Grande do Norte state), and electoral systems. He is fluent in Portuguese (native language), English and Spanish.
Lacerda will be a guest scholar at the Institute for the academic year 2024-25.
