About

Adam Salek is a senior at the University of Notre Dame studying Sociology with a minors in Education, Schooling, and Society and history. His main focus is on equitable educational access and international and comparative education. He spent the summer of 2022 in Tucson, Arizona working with ACE PATH, an educational equity program helping guide high-need Catholic school students on their path to college and Heaven. He hopes to spend his free time working as a substitute teacher for the South Bend Community School Corporation. 

 

Adam is particularly interested in how refugees use their education to promote peace and nation building in their countries of origin. He is currently working to learn the essentials of academic research to complete his senior thesis, hoping to study how students in unrecognized Somaliland use their education to develop peacemaking institutions in their country.
