20th and 21st-Century French and Francophone Studies International Colloquium
The “20th and 21st-Century French and Francophone Studies International Colloquium” is a highly respected annual conference that we have the honor to host from the 26th to the 28th of March 2026, here at Notre Dame. It represents a wonderful opportunity to attract scholars from the United States and around the world to our campus. The two keynote speakers Aïssa Maïga and Gaël Faye whom have become significant voices in the global Francophone world for their commitment to human rights. They are attuned to questions pertinent to democracy and human development in their work as international activists and as creators of literature, music, and film. In a colloquium devoted to the special topic of “Sound Ethics,” the performances and reflections of these prominent guests will galvanize conference attendees as well as students and faculty from our campus and other nearby institutions, and they will appeal to the wider community.
