This presentation will focus on my current research on International Labor Organization’s Andean Indigenous Program (PIA in Spanish) that connected the Andean nations. The PIA was part of the United Nation’s early global development strategies; it focused on the administration and social protection of indigenous populations. The program allows me to explore the intersections among states, gender, indigeneity, and development.
