Joseph Wong is the Ralph and Roz Halbert Professor of Innovation at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, where he is also Canada Research Chair in Health, Democracy and Development and professor of political science. The former director of the Munk School’s Asian Institute, Wong focuses his research on poverty and social policy innovation. He is currently collaborating with Dan Slater on a book about Asia’s development and democracy. Among his recent publications are Innovating for the Global South: Towards an Inclusive Innovation Agenda (coedited, University of Toronto Press, 2014) and Betting on Biotech: Innovation and the Limits of Asia’s Developmental State (Cornell University Press, 2011). He holds a PhD from University of Wisconsin–Madison.
