May 23, 2024 - ND Law Global Human Rights Clinic Participates in Landmark Global Climate Change Hearings at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in Barbados

The Notre Dame Law School Global Human Rights Clinic and the Kellogg Institute's Notre Dame Reparations Design and Compliance Lab submitted an expert brief on this matter in December and participated in oral arguments on the brief. Oral arguments were made by Notre Dame Law School professors Diane Desierto and Francisco Urbina.


 

April 2, 2024 - Kellogg’s Reparations Lab Partners with Commission of Human Rights in State of Mexico

How do we measure the fulfillment of human rights across a state, a country, a region, the world?

This is a pressing and fundamental question that Kellogg’s Notre Dame Reparations Design and Compliance Policy and Practice Lab is working on answering. In one effort, they are working in partnership with The Commission of Human Rights of the State of Mexico (CODHEM) to develop an accounting of how human rights are being respected across the state of Mexico.


 

April 1, 2024 - Desierto and Pérez-Liñán Publish Article by Kellogg's Reparations Design and Compliance Policy and Practice Lab

The Notre Dame Reparations Design and Compliance Lab, led by Kellogg Faculty Fellow Diane Desierto and Director Aníbal Pérez-Liñán, recently published an article in International Studies Quarterly titled Compliance Agreements: Emergent Flexibility in the Inter-American Human Rights System.


 

November 20, 2023 - Buitrago Rey Receives Fellowship to Max Planck Institute

Nicolás Buitrago-Rey, Kellogg Research Associate has been granted a scholarship, allowing him to carry out the research project "The structural transformation of public law" as a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany.


Jan.26, 2023 - Reparations Lab Faculty Fellows Receive Notre Dame Research Internal Grant for the project “Reparations Design and Compliance in the Inter-American Court of Human Rights”

Faculty Fellows Aníbal Pérez-Liñán (professor of political science and global affairs and director of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies in the Keough School of Global Affairs) and Diane Desierto (professor of law and global affairs in the Law School and Keough School of Global Affairs) were awarded the Notre Dame Research 2022 Internal Grant for the project “Reparations Design and Compliance in the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.”

 


Nov. 11, 2020 - Desierto and Perez-Linan Write on the New World Bank Accountability Mechanism
Faculty Fellows Diane Desierto (human rights law and global affairs) and Aníbal Pérez-Liñán (political science and global affairs) are part of a collaborative team that authored an article on the European Journal of International Law's  EJIL:Talk!, a leading international law blog.

 


June 10, 2020: New Lab Holds Inaugural Workshop
The new Notre Dame Reparations Design and Compliance Lab (NDRL) convened more than 30 scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from leading institutions in international human rights law compliance last month for its inaugural workshop.
