CATHOLIC SOCIAL TRADITION CONFERENCE
JOY & HOPE
FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF GAUDIUM ET SPES
OVERVIEW
The conference will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vatican II document, Gaudium et Spes, regarded as the most significant document of Catholic social teaching in the twentieth century.
It will feature internationally renowned speakers and presenters exploring thematic social justice issues that have been addressed by modern Catholic social thought, especially those within the pastoral constitution such as human dignity, political structures, economic development, and internationalization. Presenters will address the weaknesses or gaps that exist within the document and how the Church of today can move forward in the promotion of peace and justice in our pluralistic world.
