Former Visiting Fellow Ben Phillips (public policy) has authored an opinion piece on the Global Dashboard that he titled, “We can’t rely on any leader to pull us out of the inequality crisis. It’s up to us.” In the piece, Phillips discusses how social justice comes not from a leader or perfect political system, but rather from collective people power.
He comments, “Just as the victories against inequality in the past came not from saviour leaders but from organising, so too the hope we can find today comes not from above but from around us.”
