Jason R. Rohr is the Ludmilla F., Stephen J., and Robert T. Galla College Professor and department chair of the Department of Biological Sciences. He became a Kellogg faculty fellow in 2024.
Rohr and his laboratory study interactions among infectious disease, global change, food, energy, water, and sustainability challenges in low- and middle-income countries and how these challenges affect poverty, development, and disparities. He has active research in Senegal with Chris Barrett, a member of Kellogg’s Advisory Board, on an innovation to reduce human schistosomiasis and invasive plants while simultaneously increasing food, energy, water access, and wealth.
Numbering more than 200, his peer-reviewed articles have appeared in such publications as Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management, World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Science, and Nature. He is associate editor for Journal of Applied Ecology and was the founding chair of the Ecological Society of America’s Disease Ecology Section.
Rohr holds a PhD in ecology and behavior from Binghamton University.
