Gvantsa Dolbaia is a human rights lawyer from Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Laws degree at Tbilisi State University, specializing in International Law. In her final year of undergraduate studies, she joined the team of human rights lawyers at the Department of State Representation to International Courts within the Ministry of Justice, where she worked for more than three years before pursuing her LL.M. at Notre Dame Law School as a Fulbright Scholar. During her time at the Ministry of Justice, she worked on inter-state litigation before the European Court of Human Rights in the case of Georgia v. Russia (IV). Alongside her government work, Gvantsa led educational initiatives, lectured on international human rights law, coached moot court teams, and delivered seminars for both Georgian and international audiences.
As a doctoral candidate at Notre Dame Law School, she is researching disinformation, the human right to truth, and the corresponding obligations of States. She is also pursuing a minor in peace studies, which deepens her interest in understanding law through the lens of its service to peace.
